We held our first two events in Doncaster on the 6th and 10th February recently, both were great experiences and introduced us to the size of the challenge coming up.
On the 6th February, we attended the winter warmers raceday with a number of volunteers to promote the campaign and raise money for Macmillan. The weather was great and although the crowds were limited we raised £460 and had a number of really good conversations on the day.
The highlight (or low point depending on how you look at it), was our interview (Stacey Rhodes from Macmillan and myself) on the PA system.

On the 10th February we had our first activity event, this fitted in the window between Storm Ciara and the blizzards so weather was a bit of an issue, it was dry on the day but windy so we suspect some people were put off.
We had around 25 people on the day including great support from Get Doncaster Moving and other local groups.
We were really pleased to be joined by so many of the Doncaster Life After Breast Cancer group who reminded us the reasons why we're taking on this challenge.
We had three groups, a walking group that covered the parade ring, a group that walked the 2 mile course and a running group that did a couple of laps.
The course was 2 miles in length, dry(ish) but relatively lumpy underfoot. Gus (one of our volunteers) ran the course, but was unwilling to do the jumps, we will try and get him to others where perhaps he will have a go.
